The Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association, or CEDIA, is an international trade association of companies that specialize in design and installation of multimedia entertainment systems for the home.  CEDIA certification is only possible through a formal examination process that tests the knowledge and experience of installers.  Installers may not even qualify to take the exam until they have at least one year experience in the field under a more experienced installer.
